Saturday Morning in Pennsylvania

Good Morning OFF Sisters,

I'm exhausted after a wonderful day trip yesterday.  When I was planning my trip here, I had hoped to see a dear friend from my old church.  At first I was disappointed to learn she was spending the summer two hours away helping her husband get their barbecue business up and running at her parents' farm market in the mountains.  Fortunately, my sis-in-law suggested we take a daytrip to see them, since our beach plans stood the chance of being rained out.  I jumped at the chance.  It was so good to see them, and have lunch at their business.  Yummy.  Then we went hunting for a yarn store, where I found skeins of mill ends to make a baby blanket.  We got home late, only to learn the Phillies were rained out.  There's a double header today.

Today, I'm heading to an AA meeting this morning.  Then, I'll watch one of the games today, and head over to my sister's for supper, and a visit with Mom.

Sometime in the next six days, I have to find a nice birthday gift for my daughter-in-, Casey.  Her birthday was yesterday, and I'm usually prompt in getting her gift to her, but I forgot this year, because I was all wrapped up in my trip.  I'm heading to New York to see Christopher next weekend, and I'll give it her then.  I hate giving gift cards, So, I need to get creative.

Must scoot.

Love,

Trish

Good Afternoon Trish and everyone.....

Tri**** sounds like you had a fabulous day yesterday...good for you! I love BBQ!! I am sure your DIL won't mind that her gift will be a little late. Sometimes life just happens and we get turned around in another direction. It will be great for you to see Christopher!

Carla...I am just green with envy at all the fun traveling you do. I am luck to just get out of town to my daughters. I think I need a Sugar Daddy!!

Nothing planned for me today. Stayed up too late last night reading. I slept in today!! Starting a new book later. I scored good yesterday shopping.  Tide and Bounty towels were on sale....I also had coupons off each one...and I had a coupon for $10 off a $20 purchase at that store. I got everything like less then 1/2 the price!! Then if you bought three of the items...which I did ...I got a free $10 store gift card for my next purchases!! SCORE!!!

Wishing you all a beautiful day!!! Hope more have time to post later!!

Prayers for many in need.

Love and hugs to all....connie d

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

Looks like we have two threads started. Our teams are playing each other, Trish. My team is selling off its parts now ... one pitcher already gone and we didn't get much for him. Oh well ... he is a lefty and couldn't get out left-handed batters very well lately. I think we are in for a youth movement and some rebuilding. It's time.

Not much going on here. Off to work tonight. Slept well last night. Juliette is purring next to me. She makes me so happy.

Well, I need to get into the shower and have lunch. Have a good day.

Hi, everyone.  Looks like Trish and I started the daily threads at about the same time.  (Sorry, Trish.)

It's just beautiful out today.  A little breezy but not bad.  We get so much rain and so many overcast days that when the sun is shining we really appreciate it!!

It's good to see people posting on OFF but I sure miss some of the folks who used to post and don't much anymore.  OFF has become like family to me -- I come here every day t read and I've recently committed myself to posting.  I feel I shouldn't complain about others not posting if I don't post either.  Ha!

Take care.

I know our teams are competing this weekend.  Watched most of the first game this afternoon.  Sox won in extra innings and one of our outfielders broke his foot hitting it with a foul ball, in the extra innings.  It was a close game from the first inning on.

Hope you recorded it. The extra innings forced our second game to start even later.  They started it 65 minutes after the first game ended.  They had to clean up the park in that time, and it seats close to 45,000 fans.  The people who had tickets for last night's game were actually waiting patiently at the gates, if they could find a parking spot, till they reopened the park.  This second game should be interesting given that both teams had to use their benches and bullpens a lot in the first game.

Hugs,

Trish

Not on TV here and I no longer can get the MLB Extra Innings package through my cable provider (they don't even provide MLB Network). I don't get to see many games at all, which considering how bad they are this year (I'm talking about the White Sox now), is probably good. No reason to get depressed night after night after night....

Sorry about your outfielder.

When I'm in Michigan, I watch my Phillies on MLB.TV.  The beginning of the season was ugly, but they have improved, for the most part.  Right now, they're tied in the 11th.

Hello Sistas!

We are finally home from our travels!  (Carla, I don't know how you do it!)  We had a great time, but let me just say that vacationing with a 3 year old definitely has its challenges!  Butch and I were just so wore out at the end of every day.  But Benny really did do very well.  Didn't have a single accident with potty training the whole trip!  Whoo hoo!

Posted pics on FB every day, mainly for Christie, who was missing her boy so much!  But you can take a peek if you want.  Today we went to Stonehenge!  No, really, there's a replica of Stonehenge in Ingram, TX, that about 60% of the size of the real Stonehenge in England.  It was pretty impressive anyway, even if it is smaller.  Connie, I tried to fall through the stones to get to Jamie, but no such luck!  LOL!  (That's from a time travel book that Connie and I have read called Outlander.  Really good read, BTW, and Starz is making it into a mini series this spring.)

So, Butch and I have decided that we really like our new RV and we're looking forward to the opportunity to do some traveling (sans Benny Bop!) in the not-too-distant future.  We already have several more short hops in mind, which will be fun (Texas has a lot to see and do, after all), but we're seriously talking about taking a year and traveling the length and breadth of the US.  I think we would love it.  Just have to wait a while longer until Carrie graduates and Chris and Benny can get settled in a place of their own.  Fun to dream big, huh?

Well, need to close now.  How come vacation means so much work???  Laundry is piled up waiting for me.  Ugh.

Love you all!
